Garter Sets

Fashion is as changeable as the weather. One item can be the trend now but tomorrow or next week it is already considered faux pas or ancient history. Clothing and other garments go through a lot of evolution and alterations. One perfect example is the garter sets.
Years before, garter sets are worn by both men and women. These days only women are seen wearing these garments, especially during weddings since it is a very huge part of the wedding ceremony for the groom to take off his bride’s wedding garter and toss it to a group of single men, the same idea that goes with the throwing of the bouquet by the bride. The garter and the bouquet are said to bring good luck to the one who catches it.

Also, in the past, garter sets are more functional than it is now. Before, this garment is just solely used to hold stockings in place which is something that is very helpful to women. And then the garter set evolved into a piece of lingerie, usually it is paired with a corset and the same kind of garter used to hold stockings up but more embellished with rhinestones, ribbons, laces, and other designs.

Garter sets are known to be very sexy and very seductive looking. Some women even use garter sets as costumes for dances and other performances. We often see women wearing black or red garter sets, fully embellished, looking very sexy while they are doing their thing, whether on a catwalk or on stage.

Some of the garter sets available at present are really very unique and stylish. Some lingerie shops created really amazing pieces that would really rock anybody’s world. For some women a garter set may be just a costume or an undergarment but for some it serves a totally different purpose.
